The woman behind Be Wordie.

The story of Be Wordie starts with our founder, Dr. Anakonia Matsumoto. Born in Korea and adopted into a Hawaiian family at just five months old, Ana discovered that words were her way to express her Hawaiian identity. Now, through Be Wordie, she empowers others to narrate their own unique stories with authenticity.

Ana earned her Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership from the University of Southern California. She’s a seasoned educator with a background in curriculum development, educational technology, and instructional design.
